Exmouth Archers Beginners Course

As a club we generally run up to two Beginners Courses a year.  One in the Summer, which is held at our grounds at Withycombe Raleigh Common, and the other in the Autumn or Winter at Exmouth Community College.

The course is held over 4 weeks with the sessions lasting approximately 2 hours.  All equipment is supplied by the Club.

 Week 1

Registration, initial instruction including safety.  Fit up with equipment.  Shoot at 10 yards barebow style.  During tea break a talk on how to brace and unbrace a bow.

 Week 2

How to setup an archery range; shoot at 10 yards, Olympic style.   During tea break a talk on bows and arrows.

 Week 3

Shoot at 15 yards.  During tea break a talk on Archery rounds and scoring.  Following tea break shoot and score.

 Week 4

Shoot at 20 yards, scoring.  During tea break a talk on the organisation of Archery, what to do next and joining Exmouth archers.  Archery quiz.

 (Week 5)

If time and weather allow shoot outdoors at a longer distance, then have a go at clout archery.
